Before I came to Evolve, my experience with Recruiters hadn't impressed me. It had consisted of short messages on LinkedIn that read like they’d been sent to 100's of potential candidates, alongside some decent messages that descended into bullet point statements “Would you move to Essex for a £££ role?” and alarmist messages like “If you don’t respond now I won’t be able to submit you for the role” (this one came after not responding for two hours, and not having been told much about the role).
This is not good recruiting, AND it paints a really bad image of recruiters.
Since coming to Evolve it has become so clear to me just how important the role of a recruiter can be – if it’s done right. Which is why I decided to write this blog post, to help you spot the good recruiters the ones you want to work with.
So, how do you spot a ‘good’ recruiter, one who will treat you like a name/a person/a professional with a career and a reputation rather than just a number on their monthly target or commission spreadsheet? Well…

Ultimately, which recruiter you end up working with could make the difference between landing your dream job and hitting your head against the proverbial wall with applications.
When recruiting is done right, I believe a recruiter can be worth their weight in gold. Making a positive difference and impact in their candidates’ lives. Helping them land a role that’s the right fit professionally and culturally.
